I went to my doctor’s appointment today. It was my semi annual checkup for my slightly high blood pressure. The appointment was at 4pm, so due to the weather I left work early. I was most of the way there, and was thinking about how I was going to be very early. Then traffic came to a halt. Now I was in stop and go traffic for 25 minutes. That sucked! I called my wife, and she called the doctor to let them know I was on my way, and was stuck in traffic.
I got to the doctor’s office about 10 late. I was kind of stressed at this point. After waiting for a bit, I was called back. They weighed me, and she said I have lost weight. It turned out I had lost about 20 pounds since my last visit. Way cool! The nurse took my blood pressure. After a bit the doctor came in. He told me how skinny I looked. He took my blood pressure. Then after a bit he took it again. It was still high at around 138/83 I think. Grumble. I didn’t expect different. I have been taking my blood pressure at home, and at the drug store, and I knew it was still up there. So the good new is that I lost weight. The bad news is that it didn’t affect my blood pressure a damn bit. He said that even athletic people had high blood pressure. At least I lost weight!
