After I loaded up the shopping cart with the sale priced Healthy Choice meals, bought them, got them home, put them in the freezer, I tallied up how many I bought. It was only then that I found that I bought 58 of them. But I also found that I bought more of the Beef Merlot than any other flavor. I hadn’t planned it like that. I was just grabbing what looked interesting, and didn’t have too much fat it it, and shoving them into the cart. Apparently at the time, the Beef Merlot looked really interesting.
I just ate the Healthy Choice Beef Merlot (in wine sauce with seasoned red skin potatoes & vegetables) for lunch. It was 220 calories, with 6 grams of fat. With 60 calories worth of fat, about 27% of the total calories come from fat. That’s pretty high! If I had realized the percentage was that high, I probably would have passed on the Beef Merlot. I may need to take calculator to the grocery store with me next time. Of make a list for myself all printed out with the fat percentages already calculated out. Weight Watchers counts this as 4 points.
When I pulled it out of the freezer, I noticed there was no dessert. Oh well. It took 5 1/2 minutes of microwave time, and had to be stirred about halfway through. The vegetables were green beans, carrots, and onions and were in with the beef and potatoes in the wine sauce. The Healthy Choice Beef Merlot was delicious! I really enjoyed it. But that fat percentage is too high! So I will probably skip these enxt time at the grocery store. I do have about 10 more of them in my freezer at home though. I will eat them! I just wont buy any more of them.
